Shingles Schmingles!
If you've ever had Shingles, you will appreciate what I'm saying when I say the pain in my side was unbearable and I would rate myself as someone with a high pain thresh hold, however I can tell you if you've never had Shingles I wouldn't wish it upon you.
What I would advise you to do is to visit a Chiropractor….. yes really a Chiropractor, having spent a few days in pain I visited my wellness Chiropractor Debbie Saxton (who by the way diagnosed my Shingles), she explained that I needed to get lots and lots of good things into my body, your body heals and is well from the inside out. So I started taking one teaspoon of wheatgrass every morning and really stepped up my daily juicing regime, ensuring that I had lots of green juices, spinach, kale, avocado & lime were all particular favourites. I was adjusted once a week at the clinic and Debbie encouraged me throughout the process. I continued to work and have a normal life, despite the fact that when I had told other people what I had they had said things like.
"Oh you'll be off work for weeks with that, maybe even months."
Or
"When I had that I was in bed all day."
Or
"I had Shingles years ago and I've never really gotten over it!"
Despite these comments and more I stayed positive and I knew that by following the guidance from Debbie, I would be well, I would recover and that I would not feel the ill effects of Shingles for years to come.
Three weeks later and having done all that I have said, I can say that my Shingles were well and truly banished, I'm still keeping up with the wheatgrass and the juicing, I have treats just the same, however I know that by adding in good things I am giving my body the right fuel for a healthy and happy life.
